Belize Culture
In Belize you will find a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds consisting of Mestizo (49%), Creole (25%), Maya (10%), Garifuna (6%). English, Mennonite, Lebanese, Chinese, and East Indian are the other 10%. Due to racial harmony and religious tolerance, all of these different elements have mixed and blended successfully, and Belize has a widespread reputation for its friendly peoples. Interestingly, though, the official language is English. Other languages spoken are Spanish, Creole, Mayan, and Garifuna (Carib).
